gambas

The beef they used for the Karne de la Patria Adorada was very tender—I couldn’t get enough of it—a delicious taste of garlic and spices with every bite. The only dish I probably wasn’t too happy about was the Tapang Usa de Katipunan (smoked deer meat). No offense meant, but I grew up with a grandmother who used to make awesome tapang usa so my expectations for such a dish was very high. Besides, I was used to eating tapang usa cooked the traditional way without all those foreign spices—modern fusion of this dish just didn’t sit well with me. Maybe others will like it that way, but not me. I prefer the traditional way of preparing tapang usa.

The price per dish at Hermanos ranges from Php150-300. Wine and beer, I have no idea (I didn’t bother to ask, sorry). It’s the perfect date place if you’ve got a little bit of cash to spare—the low lighting and the old Filipino interior gives a romantic setting.
